St Patricks Day

Suddenly, spring seems to be upon us… And I am loving it!

And first football registration this morning! I can’t believe how huge my boys are. These kids are solid, hardy, and healthy. Boss weighed in at 78lbs and Wildman at 68lbs (far cry from 9lbs they started out at!). Hubbs didn’t give Wildman an option this year. He is playing football. We are a football family. It is how it is. He’s a natural athlete and I am so excited to see what he does this year.
Cakes (finally) got to wear one of her dresses on this beautiful day! This one was given to her by my sister for her birthday. Adorable!

The kids took full advantage of the weather.

And the St Patricks attire I got for our Church function tonight.

Our Church does an annual function to help pay down the mortgage. It’s a great time! Catholics know how to party! Haha! Well, I think they know that if you provide cheap beer, parishioners open their wallets wider! :).

(my Mom and I in our St Pattys gear).

Hubbs and I purchase a table so our family and friends can join in the fun.
This is the second year it has been a St Pattys theme. The food was delicious. They had fun music, money wheel (and I won!! Went in with $5 and left with $13), and they have live and silent auctions. We won the Carribean dinner I been wanting for 2 yrs and Hubbs won a Ravens bear wood carving. He had to leave with something! So we now have a 5′ wood bear guarding our garage entry door. It’s a good conversation piece …

Slacker Monday

I don’t feel like I did anything today! Let’s retrace my steps… This morning I refused to get out of bed until 7:30am even though all the kids were up. I distinctly recall telling the boys to leave me alone and putting a pillow over my head. When Cakes began to cry, I couldn’t fight it anymore. Got breakfast done, kids fed, and hit the office. I think it took all morning to process 3 pieces of mail. Thank goodness I had my assistant…

All I could think about was what I was making for dinner! (nerd alert) The Pioneer Women’s “My Brothers Chicken Tacos”. I kept reading the recipe to make sure I was prepared. I needed Taco seasoning. I found a packet in my cabinet and the second ingredient was MSG! Barf. I made my own.

Sprinkled chicken with it so it could marinate as it thawed.

And the chicken tacos were AMAZING. So, so good. So worth the effort.

I had to rush through my fabulous dinner, that I’d been looking forward to all day, to get the BOSS to football practice. Hubbs had to keep working so I had to take Cakes and Wildman with. Hot mess. Cakes is not interested in sitting still for two hours. She was playing fetch with Adam and fell. She got a little booboo right on the tip of her nose…

It was kind of a weird night… A number of frazzled moms… The weather… On my left, storms.

On my right, the sun.

We managed to end practice right as the thunder started to roll. Boss had a great practice and he was super hot so we stopped and got ice cream. I know I am a pushover.

Oh and the family meeting with new house rules is going well. The boys have been very well behaved and trying hard to get their chores done and then some. It’s like a weight has been lifted, like the air is lighter around here. I haven’t had to yell hardly at all. LOVE IT. It’s been another good day. Winning.

Steelers Suck, Yummy Party Food, Party!

We were surrounded by some of our favorite people for the the Steelers SUCK , Yummy Party Food, party.  It was nice to have such wonderful support when our Ravens choked in the second half.  UGH!  What a stressful, frustrating game!  I was so proud of Joe for not throwing a complete and total tantrum.  You could, however, cut the tension with a knife.

On the bright we had lots of yummy food.  I can’t believe I didn’t take any pictures of any of it!  AJ did take just a couple pictures… ok I took these!

Raiders Jamboree…

(poor pic quality, once again, I brought my camera without the memory card… grr)

And that brings the 2010 Football season to an end.

So, SO proud of my boys!

I think it’s pretty funny that Adam is holding his cupcake up like it’s a trophy.  I wouldn’t say Adam has a sweet tooth… I say he’s got a whole mouth full of sweet teeth! A cupcake would be trophy enough for him.  They did, however, get pretty cool medals for participating in the Jamboree.  They are very proud of their medals.

During the Jamboree, they played 4 of the toughest teams in the league for 15-18 minutes per team.  Their team was undefeated for the season.  But we don’t keep score – it’s instructional.  ha!

This is the part where I started to cry.   (No wonder I have been dubbed “Hot Mess”)  Coach Danny gushed about AJ more than any other player.  He said that “the team wouldn’t have been able to do as well as they did without the best center in the league” and he just kept going on about he always did his job and worked hard and was the backbone of the team.  At that point, I had to walk away because the tears were a-flowing and I was totally embarrassed.  My heart was bursting with pride.  He is a such a focused like guy and I am just such a proud Momma.  I love how he puts his whole heart and self into something.  I love how hard he tries to do his best.  PROUD PROUD MOMMA!!

More praise from another Coach.

The cutest and goofiest Cavalier of them all (I am partial)… or as Adam says “Cavaleaders”… actually that is kinda catchy!  The were undefeated.  Oh but then again, we didn’t keep score…
